1. Location, location, location
Near the heart of the city and close to downtown. No matter where in Tallahassee you need to be, you are half an hour away. Midtown is the heart of Tallahassee. Located east and north of the universities and north of the capital complex, a substantial portion of the Tallahassee population is close to Midtown during the day.
2. Local Restaurants
So many to choose from and they are all delicious! Kool Beans on Thomasville is near Monroe. Jeri’s Cafe is below the Midtown Reader. Izzy’s has the best sushi I’ve eaten in Tallahassee. Table 23 is always hopping. There’s nothing more Tallahassee than sitting under oak trees outside in January.
3. Adult Night Life
Several establishments are still popping late into the night. These Midtown magnets give locals an alternative to the student-heavy nightlife options near the universities. If you are interested, check out their Facebook page: Midtownnightlife
4. Boutique & Local Shops
There are several boutiques and locally-owned shops in the Midtown Tallahassee area, including ethically sourced coffee shops! Whether spending the day browsing or meeting up with friends, there are lots of options to be found.
5. Lake Ella & Food Truck Thursdays
Besides being one of the best lunchtime walks, Lake Ella hosts food trucks on Thursdays! Live bands also play, weather permitting of course.
6. Mid-Century Remodeled Homes
Midtown and mid-century are synonyms in Tallahassee real estate! These remodeled homes fly off the market. Because who doesn’t love the solid wood floors and phenomenal construction details? They do not make them like this anymore.
7. Walkable Parks
It’s where our office is!!! One of the reasons I love office days is because of all the local places where I can hike and get my steps in! The biggest nearby park is Lafayette Park. Lake Ella, Los Robles Park, and Winthrop Park are also near our Midtown office. Check out Tallahassee Magazine’s article about Midtown here.
